On event day, it is very important to us (and you, and your photographer, and your venue, and your guests, and so on) that hair and makeup are completed on time. We typically have limited time to style the bride and her whole party. Removing any possibility of needing blow dries and then styling on one or multiple guests is in an effort to make sure that you and your party are ready to go when your photographer needs you to be. Everyone should arrive with clean, dry hair. Drying tools will not be brought on site by our team and anyone with wet or damp hair will need to completely dry themselves before they can have their hair styled. Please share with your party.

A “preview” is the updated term for “trial”. Trials used to be held before securing your bridal hair stylist. Nowadays, thanks to digital portfolios such as Instagram, you already know who you want to do your hair and makeup. Previews are for you to test out the style you have in mind- not test your stylist. Come to us because you trust us!

Alas- No, you do not need a preview or trial, whatever you might call it. (However, previews are highly encouraged.) We have many brides who travel from afar for their wedding days and never have a preview with us. We are comfortable with that! Although, if you can have a preview, we do highly encourage it.

Previews take place at our studio. Preview appointments are booked for 2 hours each.

We suggest having your preview appointment 1-3 months before your wedding. Your hair and skin will be most like they will be for the day of at this time. If you want to have a preview sooner, we are happy to do this as well! Weekend preview dates are limited due to our weekends being dedicated to weddings and events. We will do our best to accommodate!

We ask our clients to arrive with clean, dry hair for their trial appointments and for the day of their events. We are well equipped with professional tools and products to give your hair the texture it needs for styling. The old saying “dirty hair is better for styling/ color” should be retired because it is not true! One day old hair is fine, but please, no dirtier than that. Overly dirty hair may cause frizz, lack of desired volume, damage to our tools, and other unwanted results. Dirty hair may be turned away from trials and/ or on the day of your event. Please advise your party.

It is totally up to you! Whether you don’t want to bring your accessories to your appointment, you’re unsure if you want to wear any, you’d like suggestions, or you’re still shopping… we keep various veils and hair accessories in our studio to try on at your preview to complete your vision.

Yes. Picturing what is in someone else’s mind is hard, so visuals allow us to be on the same page. It is important to tell/ show us the aspects of styles that you like, as well as what you do not like! You may bring them to your appointment or share with us beforehand. If you are not having a preview, we may ask to see photos before your event so we can be well prepared. Inspiration is best found on Instagram or TikTok. Pinterest is typically heavily edited or AI. Pick inspiration that closely resembles your own hair and skin for best results.

In most cases, just the bride has a preview. Unless there is great concern, our brides have our main focus. Based on availability, other guests may be accommodated for a preview if desired.

There are many factors that play into our timeline on the day of your wedding. We create our getting ready itinerary based on your photographer’s arrival and what time they want you done with hair and makeup to begin photos. For a rough guideline, we allot at least 90- 120 minutes to the bride, 60 minutes to each additional guest, 15- 20 minutes to set up, and roughly 30 minutes for final touch ups and buffer time.

In many cases, hair extensions are very helpful in bridal styling, however they are not always needed. We are happy to install any clip in extensions you or your guests may have on the day of your event! If you don’t already have your own, ask us for recommendations. Extension instal.
